These terms
Best Work Culture is operated by Best Work Culture. By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use it.
The site does two things. It publishes practice guides on HR, payroll and Indian labour compliance, and it runs a public recognition programme in which HR professionals are nominated by people who have worked with them.
The content is not professional advice
This is the most important thing on the page. Articles here describe legal, tax and payroll rules in general terms, for a general audience. They are not legal, tax, accounting or financial advice, and reading them creates no professional relationship between us.
Statutory rates, wage ceilings, thresholds and filing dates change, and several of them differ by state. Some questions covered on this site are genuinely unsettled, and we say so where that is the case rather than presenting a clean answer that does not exist.
Confirm anything that affects a person's entitlement, a payment or a filing with the relevant authority or with your own advisor before you act on it. Decisions you take on the strength of an article are yours.
Using the site
You may read, quote and link to anything published here. When you quote, attribute it to Best Work Culture and link to the page you took it from.
You may not:
- Republish articles in full, whether on a website, in a newsletter, or as training material, without written permission
- Scrape the site at a volume that degrades it for other people
- Submit false, misleading or malicious information through any form
- Impersonate anyone, or claim a nomination or badge that is not yours
- Attempt to reach data, accounts or parts of the system you have not been given access to
- Use the site or anything on it to break the law
Nominations and listings
Nominating is free and open to anyone. A few things follow from how the programme works.
- Only nominate someone whose details you are entitled to share, and give information you believe to be accurate
- Nothing is published automatically. We contact the nominee and complete our own checks first
- We may decline or remove any nomination or listing, at our discretion, and we do not have to explain why
- A nominee can ask to be removed at any time, without giving a reason
- Submitting a nomination does not entitle anyone to be listed, to a badge, or to a response on any timeline
Verification means we have taken reasonable steps to confirm that the person exists, holds the role stated, and was genuinely nominated. It is not an audit of their work, an endorsement of their employer, or a professional certification, and it should not be presented as one.
What you submit
You keep ownership of anything you send us. By submitting a profile, biography, achievements or a photograph, you give us permission to publish that material on a listing or badge page and to use it to promote the recognition programme, until you ask us to stop.
You confirm that what you send is yours to send, and that publishing it will not infringe anyone's rights. Do not upload a photograph you do not hold the rights to.
Personal data you submit is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
Badges and certificates
A verified nominee gets a badge and a certificate to share. They record a nomination that we checked, on the date shown, and nothing more.
- Use them as issued, without altering the artwork, wording or dates
- Do not describe a badge as an award, an accreditation, a ranking, or a qualification
- We may withdraw a badge if the information behind it turns out to be wrong, or if it is being misrepresented
Assessments and tools
The HR Health Check and the roadmap it produces are indicative. They score what you tell them against a general model, without seeing your contracts, your registrations or your records, so they cannot tell you whether you are compliant. Treat the output as a prompt for a proper review, not as the review.
Our content
The articles, artwork, badge designs, site design and code are owned by Best Work Culture or licensed to us, and are protected by copyright. The name and logo of Best Work Culture may not be used to suggest an association, endorsement or partnership that does not exist.
Links and third-party services
We link to government portals, standards bodies and other publications so you can check what we have written against the source. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their availability.
Where an article names a product, including any product built by the operator of this site, that relationship is disclosed on the article itself.
Availability
We publish this site as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, that it will be free of errors, or that any particular article will remain published. We may change, correct, move or withdraw content at any time, and we correct things when we learn they are wrong.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for loss arising from your use of the site or from reliance on anything published here, including lost profits, penalties, interest, or consequential loss.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Ending your use of the site
We may withdraw access, remove a listing, or decline future submissions where these terms have been broken. You can stop using the site at any time, unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, and ask us to remove a listing at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes arising from them are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
Changes to these terms
We update these terms from time to time and change the date at the top of the page when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
